Most sinful is to break a heart filled with love

I enjoy understanding human emotions, trying to feel what another person is feeling, why there are doing something, what is behind their every action. When I started reading(Tarot) it gave me another opportunity to do that. But over the time it has become painful. It is hard when you see someone in pain, and stay objective. To not react. To not feel. It aches. I am writing today in this ache. It will not help others but it may soothe my heart a bit.

I believe in the saying that Life is Beautiful. But, now I have understood that this saying is incomplete. Life is beautiful, but this beauty is hidden to those who are not brave enough to deal with its ugliness first. To feel the rose in your hand, you have to be poked by thorns first. Irony is that what makes this life worth living also make it a living hell, and that is Love.

Most sinful is to break a heart filled with love

80% of the problems that I have answered till now are based on Relationships. Some problems are between spouses, some due to In Laws, some from co-workers too, and some are two people in love trying to be together against their very own blood relations.

This just breaks my heart, to see your very own parents trying to break heart of their kids, just because their culture did not approve of love marriages. Seriously, Indian parents do need to grow up.

In other countries(developed), at least lovers only have to focus on if the other person is right or wrong for them. In India, No, this is not enough. That other person should be right for me, and my Parents, My siblings, my doggy, my aunties, my nephews, my neighbors, and my neighbors doggy too. If not, well love is another thing but you can not get married. Even if you manage to pick a suitable candidate that can fit on every standard set by your family and relatives; even then his/her character must be bad, otherwise why would they have fallen in love.

Most sinful is to break a heart filled with love

Most surprisingly, parents of a boy, always feel that their son is so good and noble; it is that characterless girl who is trying to seduce the poor boy. Their son is an avatar of Shri Raam, while that girl must be Shuparnakha or some other demon. In one moment you become characterless if you love someone before marriage.

While, on the girl side; girl has obviously lost her character and ‘Maryada’. She has brought dishonor to the whole family, and the boy, who she loves. He must be a ‘sadak-chaap, ‘awara’, who want only one thing from our daughter – Sex. Yes, sex is the only possible reason, on why someone could love your daughter.

No matter how perfect both of them could be for each other, just because they love each other, their marriage is doomed to fail. Because it is only arranged marriage which can survive the test of time. So if you will do an arranged marriage, we will get you a gaon ki seedhi saadi ladki, who will cook for you, will sleep with you without saying no ever, will do your laundry, clean your home, and also give birth to your offspring, your vansh. What we are not telling you is that she can never be your soulmate. She will be a maid for you, and you will pay her in regular expensive saarees, jewelry, and a daily dose of nagging too. She will not be the one with whom you can share your joy and sorrows. She will not be the one who has your heart. Who has loved you more than anything else in this world. She will be a wife to you, a mother to your kids, a bahu to your parents, but she will never be your soulmate, because your soul died the very same day when you left that girl, who was still holding your broken heart while you were busy crushing hers.

It does not matter if you are a boy or a girl, or parent of one; who is in love. Do understand one thing. There is no greater pain than a broken heart. There is not a greater curse than the one which came from a broken heart. A single tear from a broken heart can make your life disintegrate into a million pieces. Never break a heart. No matter how much you want your kids to follow in your footstep or respect your culture. This pain is not worth it. Don’t give this pain to anyone. Your kids respect you enough to wait for your acceptance. Do not lose their respect because of your worthless Ego.

Never break a heart filled with love. It may never learn to love again. What could be the greatest sin than that?

Chakra Meditation

stock-photo-silhouette-of-a-man-meditating-with-seven-colorful-chakras-upon-ocean-by-red-sunset-163849280

We are fooled by the term Yoga(Yog). We do Surya Namaskar and say we have done Yoga. We will do kapaalbhati, Praanayam, a few OMs and we will start preaching ourselves as Yoga Guru. There is nothing wrong in doing all these, but to term them as Yog is like ignoring the big picture. Pardon me for using the term Yog and not Yoga, I just prefer it as this is more apt to its hindi nomenclature, like it is Lord Raam and not Lord Rama. I don’t want to pronounce it Yo-Ga. It is Yog.

Yog in simple plain hindi means – To Add, To Sum,To Join.

It is the Yog of us with our spiritual being. Joining of body with mind and soul.

Yoga, however is the most popularized version of physical exercises which are teachings of Yog, to make your body apt for meditation. Only a healthy body can have a healthy mind; and only a healthy mind can have a healthy soul. This is the basis of Yog. We use Pranaayam, and other type of Yogic exercises to make our body fit. Meditation is used to make our mind distraction free and focused, so we can receive the knowledge of beyond. When this is reached, Yog helps us to reach our highest spiritual self. To be one with The One. This joining of trinity. Mind + Body +Soul.

There are so many ways to practice Yog in your life, like Hath Yog,Raaj Yog, Tantra, Mantra, Gyan, Karm. One of them is Kundalini Yog, which involves almost everything from breathing exercises to mantras, to meditation. Kundalini enlightenment works by awakening our Chakras.

I felt fascinated with Chakra Meditation and Kundalini Yog, as somehow, this is the most scientific and processed form of a ritualistic meditation. It’s not just about making your mind blank, it is about enriching your mind/soul. It works on body, mind and soul simultaneously.

There are 7 Chakras, 6 in our body and 7th on our outer body, just crowning us on top.

Muladhar – Base chakra, or Root Chakra is at the end of our spine. Its representing color is Red and Mantra is Lam. In senses it represents smell. It’s element is Earth. How apt is that when we say – come back to earth, put your foot down, to touch your roots; what we actually means is to be stable and secure, to become grounded; and all these take us to our root which is earth, our Muladhar, our base. This is the Chakra of stability, of the first step. We start from earth. This is our base.

Svadhishthana – This Chakra represents reproductive organs, and our emotions. Water is its element. Water which also represents emotions, feelings, and reproduction. Have you noticed how much watery terms when it comes to our reproductive organs, like flow, blockage, pipes, swimmers, etc… In senses it represents taste. It’s color is orange and Mantra is Vam. Water over Earth.

Manipura – It is the fire element, and quite suitably denotes our digestive system. This fire is used to digest our food, to burn it. Fire over water. Yellow is its color and Ram is its mantra. Sense is sight. It governs fear, power, and anxiety etc. Butterflies in stomach, feeling sick in stomach… we say all these things when we are anxious or scared.

Anahata – It is the Heart Chakra. It governs circulation, love, compassion, and well-being. All matters related to heart. Its color is green, and mantra is Yam. Sense is touch. Has anyone touched your heart? Its element is Air. Air over Fire. It is the most powerful chakra for emphats.  Person with strong and awakened Heart chakra is full with love and compassion. It is one of the strong point in being an empath.

Vishuddha – This is throat chakra. Visuddha meaning pure. This chakra govern communication and expression. Its element is Ether. Ether is what this universe is made of. Our sound can not travel without this medium ether. Sound which is a part of communication, ruled by throat chakra. Its color is blue, mantra is Ham, and sense is hearing.

These were 5 chakras with elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. 5 elements. Our body is made of these 5 elements, 5 matters. These are those 5 matters. Now, what resides over matter.

Mind.

Mind over matter.

Ajna – Aagyaa, or gyan chakra. This is our 6th Chakra. Our mind. Mind over all the matter. It is above all the physical elements. Our mind can go beyond this Ether filled universe. Its color is violet, or indigo. Its mantra is OM. It is also called as third eye chakra. It govern intuition. Clarity. Knowledge. Our consciousness. The sixth sense. This is our 6th Chakra giving us 6th sense. This is our inner voice. Its sense is insight.

Sahasrara – thousand petals chakra, also known as Crown chakra is at the crown of our head. It is not inside our body but rather just on the top, where our aura is. This is the final destination of Kundalini shakti, where she unites with her Shiva. Shining like millions of sun put together. The perfect union of Shiva-Shakti. Perfect Yog. This is the place of pure bliss. Enlightenment. Samaadhi. This is where our higher spiritual self resides. To reach there is attainment of Moksha. To attain pure knowledge. To know all. To be all. To be The One. Where there is no difference in body, mind and soul. It’s just a single point. Nothing matters. You are one. Shiva is one with her Shakti. Yog.

This is Yog for me.

Face Of Jesus

Face Of Jesus
Face Of Jesus

Science, most specifically the Forensic Anthropology branch of it, has done what can only be termed as miracle. It has given a humane face to the Son of God.

Forensic Anthropology is the application of science to aid in identification of deceased individuals. Anthropologist uses physical markers present on a skeleton to identify sex, age, race and cause of death too. It is widely used technique in identifying remains, solving crimes and assisting in exploration of history.

A British scientist along with an Israeli archeologist has used forensic anthropology to draw the scientifically most accurate face of Jesus of Nazareth. Most astonishing thing is that this face is so real and humane that it is nowhere near that white, westernized, pale, thin face, blue eyes, and, flowing golden hair of Jesus, which we are accustomed to see in every church glass window. It is the biggest breaking of stereotype of Jesus’ image.

Face Of Jesus
Face Of Jesus

Surprisingly the holy face of Jesus that we see everywhere is nowhere mentioned in Bible. Infact there is no physical description of Jesus in Bible. If one has to find any proof of physical existence of Jesus, he has to search really hard, because till now there is no scientific proof has been found to support Jesus’ existence. There is however no denying of the fact that no matter how he may have looked; stories of this Son of God, have changed the course of world’s religious history.

If there was no description of his physical appearance of Jesus in Bible then how did we came to know of his holy face?.

Face Of Jesus

Here comes Shroud Of Turin. This shroud could be termed as the most debated, yet most believed religious artifact of all time. Shroud of Turin is supposedly the linen cloth that was used to wrap Jesus’ body after his Crucifixion. The shroud is mentioned in every gospel of Bible but it was never found until much later in 15th century (as per records). This shroud has imprints of a man having wounds similar to a Crucifixion victim, most specifically of Jesus’, with blood stains on head, arms, and parts of body consistent with Jesus’ injuries and death. This shroud also has an image of a face with a mustache, long beard and hair, a thin and old-looking man, with about 6 ft height.

Face Of Jesus
Face Of Jesus

This is the face of Jesus, we all know. Face we all are very familiar to. A face which was further transformed by the contemporary artists of western imagination.

With shroud of Turin itself failing to scientific tests of authenticity, the image on it can be hardly considered an accurate depiction of what Jesus must have looked like. There are other contradictions too, like holy image of Jesus is nowhere similar to a person who has lived in his time and region. Fact is when Jesus got arrested, Judas had to specifically point him to authorities, as they were not able to differentiate him from his disciples. It was mentioned in the bible that he looked like his disciples. So, in no way he would have looked like how he is depicted in churches across the world.

This new scientifically correct image that has come up now, seems to be more accurate and near to what he must have looked than the holy one. As per this new image of Jesus, he has typical features of a dark-skinned Galilean Semites era man, with short curly black hairs. Height about 5ft. 1in., and average weight of 110 pounds. It may not be the real image of Jesus, but by far it is the most near image of what he may have looked like.

Question remains, does it matter how he looked?

The way current political and religious scenario and events are unfolding, I would answer, yes, it matters. Will your faith in Jesus change, if instead of white he would be of dark skin?

No.

We need to see this new image and think in our heart, does it matter what race, sex, age, nationality or color of a person is, when we love him?

Face Of Jesus

If we can love our God, despite the color of his skin, why can’t we love our fellow humans. Why do we need to judge others, based on their race or their sexual orientation?

Isn’t Love greater than all of this?

Keep Your Critics Close

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

We all hate critics, specially the ones who have seen our struggles and yet…

Irony is, no matter how much we hate criticism; we all do need an honest critic in our life. Problem is everyone that we meet in life wants to be a critic, just not the honest type.

When it comes to others we are the first one to judge and give our verdict. Right or wrong, sometimes we just don’t know when to stop.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

I too have faced this problem, but the other way around.

My problem is that I don’t have enough critics in my life. At least not those daring enough to speak directly to me.

Here I want to make this point pretty clear, that any one who think he/she is a good critic but speak only to your back, is just a jerk; not an inch of a critic.

A critic is the one who has the capability to stand in front of you and tell you what is right and wrong with the subject matter.

Moreover, what is the benefit of talking behind someone’s back, other than feel happy doing gossiping. Criticism is to suggest areas of improvement while gossiping is done just for the sake of pleasure.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

As I have said earlier I don’t have the privilege of having enough critics in my life. It’s only one so far, and that person is my best friend for this sole reason.

I am pretty sure when you will go through the points ahead; you are also going to cross almost all the names from your long list of critics; and whoever is still left on this list, you would love to have them in your life. Are you ready with your list of critics?

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

First and foremost, cross all those who you think criticize you but they have never done so on your face. If there is even a single time that they have confronted you or told you what you are doing wrong, then keep them in the list.

Secondly, do this person criticize only you, or just everyone around him/her. If this person criticize everyone and everything in his life, than pardon this person and cross him out too. This person just need love and maybe some ‘Get well soon‘ cards. It’s in his nature to criticize. He is not doing it to bring something to your attention, he is just seeking attention from you. Best advice – Ignore.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

Whoever is listed on your list now just take a note of what kind of critic they are. Does they ever praise you? Take a count of how many times they have found out something good in you and then check this count against the times they have found you worthless. If good point lists is less than even half of bad points; dump this person too. Just cross him out of your critics list. A critic is one who gives you an overall criticism, which involves sharing what you are doing good with your life along with what is going wrong in a fair manner.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

So how many still left on the list?

Next, just see if this person is offering advice along with all the criticism or not. Advice or suggestions like this could have been done that way to make it better. For example – if someone says that you are not getting selected in interviews because of your communication issues, maybe you should try on this course, or read this book; or I will find out what we can do to help you with that. That kind of person is wroth keeping. Others just dump.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

Lastly, check the tone of criticism. If they are rude to you, they are not a good critic. Anyone who speaks to you in a manner like – your life is a failure, is not worth listening to, even when he has tons of ideas to help you. It is just not worth it. Because no matter what you do with your life or where you will reach ultimately, these kind of negative words are enough to destroy you emotionally. Just stay away from them. No matter how close this person is to you, your family member, your friend or teacher, if whatever he says comes to you like poison to your ear; you need to keep up a distance far enough from hearing range. Cross this one out too.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

Now, look at your list.

Whoever is now on your list, you consider them someone who speak truth to you, diluted or undiluted, but the truth. They are caring. They are kind. They are emphatic. They support you and want good for you. They are always the first to praise you when you do good in your life and also the first one to steer you away when you are headed in wrong direction. Most probably they will be last to leave your side, maybe never.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

If you have even a single such person in your life, you are lucky. Most of us don’t have these kind of people and friends in their lives. If you find these qualities in a distant acquaintance too, try to keep this person nearby.

Just keep them close. Because they are the ones who will always guide you to do better in your life.

Keep Your Critics Close
Keep Your Critics Close

If you don’t have any such person in your life, then don’t fret.

You be the one.

Be an honest critic for someone. Be a mentor. Be someone, others can rely on for an honest advice.

Happy Criticism!!
