Ours is a doomed Civilization

Ours is a doomed Civilization

I am usually an optimistic person, but sometimes ways of this world make me wonder, if we are not doomed or what? We as in, we people of this world, the so called advanced species of this planet earth.

I was watching a documentary on Planet Earth, and then read and researched about some of our ancient civilizations. Specially on how they all ended. One thing is observed so far, that every civilization has an end date. None of our ancient civilizations have survived, no matter how powerful, advanced, or immortal they looked. Be it Mayans, Mesopotamian, Indus Valley, Egypt, Roman, or Incas.

All our ancient civilizations have either died completely, like Mayans, or they have changed drastically to survive, like ancient Chinese civilization. Few are left in bits and pieces; more like a mix of old with something new and different; like Indus Valley.

Why I am suddenly giving history lessons? I don’t even like history. Well, at least didn’t preferred it in school time.

So, why now?

Most of these civilizations have died of natural causes, like drought, wrong farming techniques, and not foreseeing the future natural calamities, etc. What you cannot see, you cannot control. If you cannot predict that your land is going to be affected by drought or not, you cannot take preventive measures to safeguard yourself; and thus you are in risk of falling  prey to this uncertainty of natural disasters.

Ours is a doomed Civilization

Now, if you will come to think of our current civilization; which is actually a global one. We are not limited to one culture, or one land, as such. We are global. Regardless of our ancestors; we do not belong to one city, or one country too; we belong to this whole world; this whole Earth. If a land is affected by a natural calamity, we have a better chance of surviving it.

We are so advance now that we can predict almost any natural calamity; and can prevent it to some extent too. We are so advanced that we can stop a meteorite on its way, before it touches our atmosphere. We are kind of invincible. We are immortal civilization.

But, are we?

Here lies the irony.

Our ancient civilizations had no foresight; they didn’t even know what was about to hit them. We have that foresight. We have that power. We have that control. We can see. We can predict. But, are we truly seeing what is just in front of us?

We are a doomed civilization. It’s not because some natural disaster will end this world someday. It’s because, we will be the reason of our own end.

We are the ones who will end our civilization by ourselves. We are killing this world. Not slowly, but such a faster rate that, soon we will reach to a point of no return. We are killing our home.

We are killing Earth. Our only Home.

Our economic development has taken us to such heights that we cannot see how farther down we have pushed our mother Earth to a disastrous end. We are the reason behind Global warming. Increased CO2. Depleting Ozone layer. Increasing water levels of oceans. Melting Ice Caps. Warming weather. Cutting of Trees. Increase of Pollution. This is all our work. We are doing this.

We are responsible for our own doomed death.

Few of the so-called smart and advanced ones among us are depleting the resources of Mother Earth; and few of the Idiots and morons from among us, are killing each other in the name of religion and skin differences.

Rest of us, who are thankfully not so smart and not so dumb, are watching it all happen before our eyes, but not doing enough to stop it.

Ours is a doomed Civilization

We are certainly doomed.

Tuesday Talkies – Oculus

Oculus

Journey is better than Destination”, this quote is apt for movie, Oculus.

Oculus is a critically acclaimed horror movie, directed by Mike Flanagan, who has also developed a short film before, based on the same concept.

Mike Flanagan directed a short film called Oculus – chapter 3 – The Man with the Plan”, which became the underlying theme of this terrifying and brilliant horror film – Oculus.

Oculus
Oculus

Oculus stars Karen Gillan and Brenton Thwaites in the adult roles of siblings Kaylie and Tim respectively while Annalise Basso and Garrett Ryan play as 12 and 10 year old Kaylie and Tim.

Oculus

Kaylie is convinced that it was something supernatural in the antique mirror that their family had, which resulted in murder of her Father Alan, and Mother Marie, some 11 years back. While her brother, Tim, who has just recently came out of a psychiatric hospital, denies every involvement of supernatural in his parents death. Kaylie decides to take revenge of their parents death and devise a plan to kill the evil. Tim, reluctantly agrees to help her.

Oculus

They go back to their old house along with the evil Mirror and try to shoot the footage of evil mirror in action. They also devise a plan to automate destruction of the Mirror, in case anything bad happens to them.

OculusTim who was initially not in favor of Kaylie superstitious belief, gave up, when he also start seeing tricks played by the mirror. Soon, both of their lives get intertwined with their past; their younger selves. Everything seems untrue, yet so true. They start living in past, seeing their father changing into something evil, and their mother losing her mind and ultimately everything.

Oculus

This is the highest point of horror that this movie has provided. Oculus just messes with your mind. It was mirror who is playing all the tricks but it is the concept laid out by Mike Flanagan, which takes the drama to a new height. With past and present intertwined, you will feel like part of an unsolved puzzle, which is getting mysterious with every scene. You want to scream for the kids; you want to help young Kaylie; you want Tim to kill that evil mirror; you want to do so much with this movie.

Oculus

And there is the big THUD!!!

Oculus

Movie does nothing. It has the most plain climax that any horror movie can have. I was just disturbed by the way this marvelous movie get treated in the end. Oculus deserved a much better end. Sigh!!!

Oculus

At the end it just looks like that director wanted to make prequels and sequels of this movie; that’s why he has left so many questions unanswered in this movie, as if they want to leave their audience hanging in middle. But, to say honestly, this doesn’t look like a good idea.

Oculus is now an unfinished business for me. I hope they try to do justice to Kaylie and her family; and would give a proper end to monstrous mirror in the sequel.

Learning about Pyramids is like Knowing Your Spiritual self

Learning about Pyramids
Learning about Pyramids

When I was first taught about Pyramids, in my school, I was told that they are used to store mummies of Egyptian kings. I believed it till date, until my curiosity took over and I researched through books and internet to learn more about Pyramids.

If you still believe that Pyramids are just made to satisfy some Egyptian King’s larger than life Ego, then you have to read the post below, because the case is totally different.

It’s so unfair to teach our kids a history that is half corrupt and half ill rotten to fill their mind with garbage. But, why?

Maybe, it’s got to do with the regimes who have ruled us and the way they want to portray our history. We always believed that our ancestors evolved from apes and we are actually much more advanced than them. But, what if it’s not true? What if they were much more advanced scientifically, spiritually and humanely than us?

Egyptian pyramids have proved all our hypothesis wrong and made a strong point favoring the high intelligence of our ancestors. Till date none of us has come up with a way to replicate a Pyramid. Then how did our ancestors made such huge structures?

Pyramids are not only just a triangular structure erected in the dessert, they were actually build around the civilization of Nile river, in a way that all three largest pyramids aligns with the Orion constellation. It is constructed in such a way to align itself with sunrise and sunset of every new cycle of Sun.

What amazes me is that most of the people correlate Pyramids with Mummies and dead bodies, irrespective of the fact that they are never found in them. Their was never a Mummy placed in Pyramids. In fact Pyramids were built to be used as a machine kind of structure to vibrate and resonate high frequencies.

If you look inside of a Pyramid, they are like inside of a machine which uses sound as it’s basic theme and convert all the energy into positive vibes or frequency. Now, what kind of frequencies do they resonate?

Our ancestors understood the importance of being one with nature. They were quite advanced spiritually and have understood the true happiness. Just like in Hindu vedic culture our whole body is considered as a temple and is further considered to be represented through Seven Chakra, so does the Egyptian pyramids are built to influence those Seven Chakra through sound and frequency. If you saw the Seventh and the higher most Chakra in our body, it is triangular in shape with three dots joining together to denote Shakti, the ultimate divinity, so are the pyramids. They were considered as a means of communication with the higher self, and to balance the harmony in world.

Now, we have lost that touch with our higher self. Our spirituality is now limited to going to temples, mosques and churches. We have forgotten, that fundamental spirituality is actually derived from humanity and harmony. One day will come when we will understand this and maybe that day we will attain the knowledge which our ancestors have already captured in these Pyramids.

Till then, we have Pyramids to explore more. 🙂

Cat, which don’t want to be saved….

Good thing about living in an area with lots of trees nearby (other than the view) is that you got to see so many visitors (wanted/unwanted) from the wild. Yesterday, while I was downstairs checking my mail, I saw one cat, all covered in black puffy hairs. All black and beautiful. She had bright eyes, bright as fire. Kind of scary for me. Too scary, but beautiful in a way.

You must have guessed what I would have done after seeing that beautiful cat…. No, I didn’t hold her and loved her… on the contrary I ran. I ran away and close my doors as fast as I can.

Yeah, I am frightened of cats. Actually, I got scared of everything that walks on 4 or more legs. 😦

I don’t hate them, it’s just that I would like to keep my distance. I love them, till no touching is involved.

So, I left her on my doorstep. But, she never left me. :O

At night, when my hubby arrived from gym, she was still there. Still waiting at our door. My hubby, he appears to be very rough and tough but when it comes to helping others he is all heart. Sometimes, I hate this habit of him, but to tell you frankly(don’t tell him) I love him for this. Muaahh.

So, he was not willing to close the door on her in this cold weather. He was afraid that she might die of cold or can become food of some wild animal. Thus, we started our rescue mission. First thing that we thought of, was to provide some food for her. So, I put some milk and bread for her to eat. But, she was behaving just like my kids. Won’t eat, no matter how much you pursue her. Stubborn.

We guessed she must have eaten something and is full. So next thing that we do was to arrange a cushion and blanket for her to prevent from cold. But she refused that too. How stubborn and ungrateful.

We wanted to hand her over to the society office, so that they could put her up in some comfortable place. But, it was already very late in night and there was no one at office. Seeing no other option my hubby finally decided to knock on our neighbor door and ask them if the cat is theirs. (I once saw a black cat in their hands, a different one though).

Our helpful neighbor Mark, also came out to help her. He even offered to put her in his garage till morning, to save her from cold. So finally, we decided to put her in garage and in morning to hand her over to the office guys or to cat shelter.

Mark and my hubby both went down to garage and tried to put that stubborn cat in the garage. That stubborn cat. She did it again. Ran away. Mark also got some scratches on his arm in all this struggle. But, that black cat was long gone in darkness of night.

My hubby was worried that she may not survive the night, but I was sure no one can touch that stubborn cat, not even cold.

And I was right (as always). I saw her today again, on the door waiting to scare the hell out of me. I didn’t even went to go check my mail. 😦

Well, the cat was saved, though. My neighbor told me that he had taken the cat to the society office and they have placed her in a shelter. I was relieved, less for the cat but more for myself. Now, there is no four legged animal, waiting at my doorstep. Peace.
