Papa Push, Baby is Coming

Papa Push, Baby is Coming
Tisha – Papa Push, Baby is Coming

Do you remember what you wanted to be, when you were a kid? I don’t.

No, I don’t have a memory loss or something. It’s just that I wanted to be so many things that now I don’t even remember if there was something special that I wanted to be.

My kids are also going through the same phase where one day they want to be Police, other day teacher. Specially Tisha, her desire to be something changes by every hour.
So, yesterday she was the Doctor. She decided to be a doctor cause her Papa, being tired, told her that he has some back pain. Liar!!!!

He just didn’t wanted to be a Horse. Actually, every day when he comes from office, all three kids would jump over him and he has to oblige their love by being their ride. So he would be a horse with all three on his back, riding, till they find something else to amuse them. Coming back to point, he didn’t wanted to be a horse, so he decides to say, that he got some pain in back and leg.

Tisha, being the Papa’s angel, decided to take care of him. So she came running to him and said Papa, I am Doctor.

Papa: Oh my doll…. You are a Doctor? (very proudly, as if she has just passed her MBBS exam 😛 )
Tisha: Yes. I am Doctor. You hurt Papa?

Papa: Yes, baby. I am hurt. I got pain in my leg.

Tisha rushed to her play room to get a handkerchief, a crayon and water in her sippy cup.

Dipped her handkerchief in water, started cleaning Papa‘s hand (forgot that he complained about his leg).

Tisha: Don’t make it dirty. Clean it.

Then she used her crayon as if giving an injection.

Tisha: Don’t cry, OK. Mamma is here. Good babies don’t cry. Okay.

Papa: (crying) No, Doctor. I don’t want injection. I want to go. (crying louder now)

Tisha: (In a very bossy way, now), Don’t Cry. Don’t be a bad baby. Look Mamma is here.

Otu too came up jumping up and said “Bad Boy”, to Papa.

Papa: crying….. 😦

Tisha: Papa, Push…. Push… Baby is Coming.

Papa: (speechless….. looking at me).

Me: (Laughing so hard… I don’t remember when I stopped).

Tisha later gave a teddy bear, all wrapped up in her handkerchief, to Papa.

See, here is your baby.” 😀

What Kind of Government We Want?

What Kind of Government We Want?
What Kind of Government We Want?

I was watching a television series yesterday, where the dethroned Queen asks one of her Knight, “People of my Land must be waiting for me to return”. Knight replied “My Lady, People do not care about who is ruling them and who is not? What they care about is that do they have enough to eat, or shelter, and safety”.

What Kind of Government We Want?
What Kind of Government We Want?

We say all big things like corruption, world peace, global warming, woman empowerment, while choosing our governments but the basic reality does not change. We all want our basic necessities to be met first, only after that, we would care about global warming and world peace.

What Kind of Government We Want?
No Electricity

Recent posts that I am seeing on facebook, from my friends belonging to U.P(Uttar Pradesh), India, makes me realize that those who were fighting before elections taking sides are now all on one side.

What Kind of Government We Want?
No Electricity

One side which is complaining about huge Power cuts. In the scorching heat of Delhi and U.P, there is no relief whether you are outside or inside home, due to power cuts. Now some may ask what it’s got to do with politics?

What Kind of Government We Want?
What Kind of Government We Want?

Actually few days back when I was debating with a friend about the scene of Indian Politics, this point arise where he said that “I can not believe that an educated person can say that people of Amethi are more concerned about the basic things like roads and power, and not see the corruption done by Congress party over the years. How can they choose Rahul Gandhi over and over again?”

What Kind of Government We Want?

He was right, but to some extent. Point that I made was, people of Amethi are not bothered about corruption as they do not see it directly affecting their lives. What is affecting them more is poverty and lack of infrastructure. They are not electing a party, they are electing an individual, Rahul Gandhi, Golden Prince. Why they are electing him?

What Kind of Government We Want?

If you visit Amethi, and could be able to chat honestly with the people there, they will say, “we know congress didn’t do anything here, but last year they gave a government job to my little brother. Our whole family is feeding because of it.” Or, “my old mother is getting pension because of them”, or, they gave me quota work for making this road, which I may or may not make”. Congress has not taught them fishing, but they are provided with Fish to eat, from time to time.

What Kind of Government We Want?

My point being they are feed only that much, which is enough to fill their stomach but not for long, so they will come asking for it again. Their desires are simple. Their needs are limited. Lets take a totally different scenario now. Lets ask a person living in USA, what does he need from his government?

Will he say that he wants power supply, or good roads? No, he doesn’t need them, because he already have them.

What Kind of Government We Want?

A girl living in Delhi, may or may not say about better roads, but she will sure say safety on roads as her biggest concern. A small businessman may say less tax on his business, or a youth for more job opportunities, or a housewife managing her household on a minimum budget may say, ability to buy more in less.

What Kind of Government We Want?

Each one of us has different priorities and these change based on what we already have and what we aspire to have next. So, basically we want our government to give us everything, but we need all the basic necessities first.

What Kind of Government We Want?
Wants and Needs

As they say in hindi “Bhooke Bhajan Na Hoye Gopala”, meaning “You can not pray on an empty stomach”.

Along Came A Spider

Along Came A Spider
Along Came A Spider

A thrilling, fast paced novel filled with gory details., but this is not all which can be said about James Patterson’s famous novel “Along Came A Spider”. For the lovers of thrillers and psychotic characters, this could be among the best choices, but if you are not very fond of insane characters, than go take a nap instead.

This novel takes a very good start by building the very gruesome foundation for our psychotic character Gary Sonezi, who starts off by kidnapping and killing an infant mercilessly. You can guess easily what he is capable of doing, if he starts his killing spree in such a sick way.

To match this psychotic killer we have our very own hero in the form of Alex Cross, the famous homicide detective who is determined and passionate about his work. Main plot starts off with kidnapping of two kids, one girl Maggie Rose and her friend, Shrimpie as  known popularly . What makes this kidnapping, a crime of the century, is the fact that both the kids belong to the affluent families, one being kid of a celebrity and other one of treasury. In-fact the kids had their own personal bodyguards assigned to them by the secret services for protection.

Alex Cross is assigned to solve this kidnapping, along with Jezzie, from the Secret Services, who later becomes his love interest too. The mastermind of kidnapping, Gary Sonezi is shown as a cruel and devilish person, who has no remorse or soul, indeed he is a brilliant plotter who is always two steps ahead of Cross and whole bunch of secret service personnel. He comes across as one who makes backup plan, of a backup plan. Still he was caught in a very dramatic way. Later, however it does looked like, that this was also a part of his terrific plan.

Their is one interesting twist to the whole story, when even the kidnapper got duped by some opportunists. Incidentally Gary Sonezi, trusts Alex Cross to solve the final mystery more than himself or the police. Their is also a dramatic turn of events with a double personality disorder, which was actually being shown marvelously.

Now, coming to the points where this novel lacks, is number one it is pretty boring in the second half. It seemed to stretch beyond a point making it dull and heavy. At one point you just want to put down the book, but you are hanging only to see if Gary received the punishment he deserved. Romance is exaggerated and in such a boring taste. You can yawn easily between the love making sessions. They talk as if no two lovers or even normal persons talk to each other. What disgust me about this novel is the Racism card, which was played over and over. Their was no such need to glorify it or to make it such a big deal. It was like getting distracted by something which is so out of place for this kind of a book.

Only thing that this book needs is a better editing.Rest, it is a marvelous story told beautifully.
