I was watching a television series yesterday, where the dethroned Queen asks one of her Knight, “People of my Land must be waiting for me to return”. Knight replied “My Lady, People do not care about who is ruling them and who is not? What they care about is that do they have enough to eat, or shelter, and safety”.

We say all big things like corruption, world peace, global warming, woman empowerment, while choosing our governments but the basic reality does not change. We all want our basic necessities to be met first, only after that, we would care about global warming and world peace.

Recent posts that I am seeing on facebook, from my friends belonging to U.P(Uttar Pradesh), India, makes me realize that those who were fighting before elections taking sides are now all on one side.

One side which is complaining about huge Power cuts. In the scorching heat of Delhi and U.P, there is no relief whether you are outside or inside home, due to power cuts. Now some may ask what it’s got to do with politics?

Actually few days back when I was debating with a friend about the scene of Indian Politics, this point arise where he said that “I can not believe that an educated person can say that people of Amethi are more concerned about the basic things like roads and power, and not see the corruption done by Congress party over the years. How can they choose Rahul Gandhi over and over again?”
He was right, but to some extent. Point that I made was, people of Amethi are not bothered about corruption as they do not see it directly affecting their lives. What is affecting them more is poverty and lack of infrastructure. They are not electing a party, they are electing an individual, Rahul Gandhi, Golden Prince. Why they are electing him?
If you visit Amethi, and could be able to chat honestly with the people there, they will say, “we know congress didn’t do anything here, but last year they gave a government job to my little brother. Our whole family is feeding because of it.” Or, “my old mother is getting pension because of them”, or, they gave me quota work for making this road, which I may or may not make”. Congress has not taught them fishing, but they are provided with Fish to eat, from time to time.
My point being they are feed only that much, which is enough to fill their stomach but not for long, so they will come asking for it again. Their desires are simple. Their needs are limited. Lets take a totally different scenario now. Lets ask a person living in USA, what does he need from his government?
Will he say that he wants power supply, or good roads? No, he doesn’t need them, because he already have them.
A girl living in Delhi, may or may not say about better roads, but she will sure say safety on roads as her biggest concern. A small businessman may say less tax on his business, or a youth for more job opportunities, or a housewife managing her household on a minimum budget may say, ability to buy more in less.
Each one of us has different priorities and these change based on what we already have and what we aspire to have next. So, basically we want our government to give us everything, but we need all the basic necessities first.

As they say in hindi “Bhooke Bhajan Na Hoye Gopala”, meaning “You can not pray on an empty stomach”.

A day well spent is a day with the nature, and what better way than to join the best of what nature has to offer.
We stumbled upon one such place on our way to Columbia highway. How extraordinary are those experiences when you found something you like, even when you were not looking for it. That’s what happened with my Hubby, when he was driving along the highway, and I pointed at the large number of horses roaming alongside.

It didn’t took more than a minute when he turned the wheels and went straight to them. I couldn’t even completed, “Where the hell are you going?”, and he was there.
It was a very large compound with lots and lots of different sized horses, from racing horses to ones for the breeding, sick horses for healing, to just some privately owned horses for training.

Only one who seemed more exciting than my hubby, was my little daughter Tisha. She was so happy that she was dancing all around those horses. She has always loved them. She is riding horses since she was two. 🙂

What surprises me, and I liked about that place was, that all the stables were clean and big enough for the horses, unlike what I have experienced before.

We also witnessed a newly born pony, and her over protective mother. It was Tisha’s favorite horse, now she is asking her Papa to buy her a pony horse. 🙂

What about my twin boys? Well, they were sleeping peacefully in the car, before we suddenly introduced them to beautiful horses. It took some time for them to get adjusted, and then they were all up for it. Playing and enjoying with them.

I was scared. How couldn’t I be? Most of them were more than 7 feet taller, and so big, with their big nostrils flaring as I was taking their pic. I excused myself from that ferocious stable, and move to the ones who were their for healing, and are up-to my acceptable level of size limits 🙂

Our party could have continued, if not rained. We finally packed, and leave with the hope of visiting them soon.

However, clicked some pics for you to enjoy. 🙂
All the ads that you are watching on your television set are over the top (literally 🙂 ), but if you specifically focus on the Deo ads for men, they are so (over) exaggerating.
I am even afraid of getting one for my hubby, what if he will go out wearing one of these Deodorant, and semi nude girls starts jumping on him all over the place. It would be a hell of a sight though. Just don’t tell my hubby, what if he decides to shop for himself 😛
Their is a new ad that is coming on tv for a famous Deo, where a girl who incidentally is quietly flying a kite on rooftop, gets distracted by smell of a man/boy who is at-least two or three houses away from her. She lost her kite and herself too, as shown in the ad in, so not subtle way. So, she asks a kid (presumably his little brother, flying kite alongside her), to go downstairs, and she herself climbs and jump roofs to reach the cute looking boy. Poor soul, he didn’t even have any dialogues. Okay so this girl unties her hairs (this is the extent to which Indian ads can go 🙂 thankfully), and cut loose boy’s kite. That’s it. Meanwhile, it was also shown that boy has sprinkled himself with a butt-load of Deo.

Now, first thing first, why would any man would like to use a Deo, which will smell from two buildings away. Won’t he will be sensible enough to know that it’s the biggest turn off if a man is smelling (doesn’t matter if it’s a pleasant smell) from such a distance. No girl would prefer to go out with a Flower Garden.
Other thing that is puzzling me is, why did she asked the kid to go away and not watch what she was about to do? I mean she didn’t do anything other than to cut the boy’s kite. Maybe she didn’t wanted the kid to learn bad manners. 😛
One more takeaway from this ad boys, If you will use this Deo, girls will come to you from two blocks away, but as soon as they will reach you, they will destroy something of yours, and will leave immediately. No, they are not going to stay with you to play girlfriend-boyfriend.
As long as these ads are here, I don’t feel the need to switch to any comedy show. 😛
Now, I am off to buy a Deo for my hubby, would just put a sticky on his back saying, “Taken”.

Modi and his estranged wife’s story is making rounds in political arena, reason is clear, everyone wants to know everything about you, when you are famous, specially in Politics.
Now, coming to point, why I am writing this post? Yesterday, I read an article of The famous Shobha De (his controversial articles are the only reason that she is famous), where she pointed out, why no woman would like to marry Narendra Modi?
She wrote, that she asked a lot of woman including herself that “Do you want to marry Narendra Modi?“
Answer from everyone was – NO.
Then she explained in her own tone, why no woman would like to marry Narendra Modi. Reasons were given like, he is too loud, he don’t listen to anyone and he always talk about himself, no fun, too strict and possessive, would always keep an eye on you and blah, blah, blah……
I just want to tell Shobha Ji, that actually, she has asked the wrong question to all the women.
Instead of asking, “Do you want to marry Narendra Modi?”
She should have asked, “Do you want a Son like Narendra Modi”?

I bet she would have gotten far more Yes this time. Any woman would be proud to have a son like him, who is devoted, determined and passionate for his Motherland. A man who has sacrificed everything that he could have had, for a cause that is bigger than any family, any marriage and any relationship.
A soldier when leave his home to fight for his country, is never asked, “Why he left his wife at home?, Why did he left her devastated”? Then why are we asking so many questions about Modi’s marriage problems? He is as much Victim here, as his wife, Jashodaben. Both of them, were forced into a marriage (child marriage, I suppose), he tried to come out of it, and he deserved every right of doing so. I have seen girls who were not even old enough to go to college, married off and sent to their sasuraals. We all sympathize with Balika Vadhus, but what about Balika Var?
Even if marriage would have been a legal, real age, or shall we say, normal marriage; don’t they have any rights to live separately in matters of discord. We should have been worried, if Jashodaben was forced to live in an unhappy marriage, or if she was a victim of domestic violence, or if her partner was having an extra marital affair while still married to her. They are two adults living separately, their own personal life. Isn’t it?
Rahul Gandhi mentioned that he just stated a fact and no personal comments, that Modi has not declared his marital status in the past. A little fact that he forgot to mention was that Modi have never said, that he is unmarried, too. A new rule for filling of election nomination form now makes it mandatory to declare your spouse’s details, that is why Modi has to write his wife’s name now. Over the years if he has not done so, it had actually helped Jashodaben to maintain her dignity away from media’s crooked eyes.

Just think for a second, a woman who is separated from her husband, for years, and still she is fasting and praying for the Husband’s success; think of that unspoken love and respect between them. This respect and love can not be one sided, Modi must have treated her with respect over the years, hiding her identity from media, keeping her safe, taking care of her studies and financial matters. He has earned respect of not only Jashodaben, but every woman, for being a man who loves woman of his life, his Motherland, India.
