  • Do you know that Flowers did not always existed? They appeared 140 million years ago and before that, ferns and cone bearing trees dominated the earth. 😕
  • Do you know that Several centuries ago in Holland, tulips were more valuable than gold?
  • Do you know that the largest Flower in the world is the flower of the Puya raimondii, which has a flower stalk 35,000 feet tall and bears over 8,000 white flowers? 🙄
  • Do you know that Bamboos produce flowers once every few years. And when they do, all flowers of the same species bloom at exactly the same time?

We all love flowers. Didn’t we? They are weird and cool at the same time… just like us. 😛

Wednesday Words – Playing Mom

My Kids love role playing, but it’s always hard to catch them in action. Remember they are smarter than me. 😕

Yesterday was different. I had a Spy.  😈

Everytime they are playing in their room, and I would happen to visit, they will go completely quiet on me. You must think that they are scared of me??? Nope. Not in any dimension, of any world. 🙄

They use to enact me. My every word, every move. That’s why they go quiet with a sheepish smile on their face. Specially Otu. He repeats every word coming out of my mouth, with the same tone, like making a joke of me. Devil!!! The moment I’ll come out of their play room, they will laugh out loud, as if they have succeeded in their small mission of hiding their naughty plans from me. 😐

Coming to yesterday’s events. My Spy…. Yes, I was coming to that. My dear Hubby. He obliged me this time, by intruding into the enemy lines and bringing me back, important strategic information from across the border. 😉

These were the observations….

Tisha: Boys (talking to her two naughty brothers), sit properly. Renne, don’t move.

Renne: Okay.

Otu: OK. Mamma.

(OMG, Tisha was playing MOM. Tisha was playing Me.) 😆

Tisha: Boys. Mamma is cooking food. Don’t cry. Renne, what do you want?

Renne: Chicken.

Tisha. Otu, what do you want?

Otu: (long pause) Egg. No. Ice cream. 🙂

Tisha: Ok, baby. (seeing her Papa also sitting in the corner), boys, I am making tea for your Papa. Okay Boys…. Renne….. sit properly.

Papa so proud, as if telling me, look my daughter makes tea better than you. 😎

Tisha: Ok boys, get ready. Pick up your bag. Go to school.

Boys obediently took their bags. Stock it up with all the toys they found lying around.

Otu, Renne: Bbye Mamma (to Tisha).

Tisha: Bye baby. Bye. I love you. See you soon.

If you are thinking, Oh! how cute. How sweet?? How nice your kids are???

This sweetness is all for role play. Once real food is served, you won’t find a single one of them, sitting peacefully at one place, including their father.  😛

Thursday Treats – Crocheted Turtle Bag

My kids are fan of ‘Sammy’s Adventures‘, and ‘ A Turtle’s Tale‘. Specially, Otu, my two year old boy. Every time of day, he is just interested in playing with a baby turtle toy. 🙄

So, this one is specially for him.

  • Do you know that a Turtle’s shell is called ‘carapace’, but they also have a lower shell called plastron‘?
  • Do you know that Turtles have existed for around 215 million years? Phew!!!
  • Do you know that Turtles don’t have Ears, but for sure they can hear?
  • Do you know that just like us, Turtles also have their favorite colors?

Enough Turtle tattle, now I would like to revisit, ‘A Turtle’s Tale‘. I love Baby Turtles too. 😀

Tisha happy with her Crown 🙂
  • Do you know that there are 25 windows in the Statue of Liberty Crown?

  • Do you know that in ancient Egypt, Royal women used to wear the Royal Vulture crown, having a falcon with wings folded?

  • Do you know that Gold Crown that Queen Elizabeth donned during her coronation in 1953, does not belong to her, but rather was a property of state?

  • Do you know that the oldest Christian crown in Europe is probably the Iron Crown of Lombardy?

Now I want a Crown too…. Who doesn’t want to be a Queen, unless you are a Queen in Game Of Thrones 😛

Frolic Friday – Kids Are Smart Enough To Fool Me

Kids Are Smart Enough To Fool Me
Kids Are Smart Enough To Fool Me

We wait to hear our kids speak, and everytime they do, they  mesmerize us with their innocent words. But just wait till they are smart enough to manipulate you with their cute looks and smart words. 😛

Two days back when my hubby was trying to make kids sleep, Renne was not in the mood to give up easily. He was looking for every reason or shall I say, every distraction, for not sleeping.

Renne: I want a Pillow.

Before you read further, try to say “I want a Pillow”, the way a two year old will say, just five times faster. Yeah, that’s how Renne speak. He do everything fast. Runs faster, eats faster and speaks much more faster.

So, instead of hearing “I want a Pillow”, you will hear “I wn plw”. :O I know it’s not much understandable. And yes, I can make sense of it. Occasionally though. 😛

Coming Back to our post.

Renne: I want a Pillow. (screaming at least 10 times, in one breath)

Papa: What? What do you want? (point to note, he didn’t understand Renne, no matter how much he will deny this fact after reading my post)

Renne: Pillow. I want Pillow.

Papa: I can’t understand you. What do you want?

Renne: PILLOW.

Papa: WHAT?

Renne irritated, showing anger to his Papa.

Papa: Tisha, what does he want? I can’t understand him. (asking help from our three year old daughter Tisha)

Tisha: He wants Pillow, Papa. (Laughing at Papa… lol) 😀

Papa: Oh My God. Thank You Tisha. What will I do without you. (hands over a pillow to Renne. Matter resolved) 🙂

Now, this is not the real story, and if you are wondering what I was doing this whole time? I was pretending to sleep. So mean, right? 😀

Next day, when I was relaxing in my balcony, with a cold coffee, and a book to read, Renne took it to himself for disturbing my peace and quiet time.

Renne: Mamma, I want Jacket.

I understood him completely, but I was in no mood to leave my comfortable chair and ice cold coffee, to go get a jacket. Even more, because it was so hot, what would he want a jacket for? So, I said….

Me: What? I can’t understand you.

Renne: I want jacket, mamma.

Me: I am not able to understand you, Renne. What do you want?

Renne: Jacket. I want a Jacket. (shouting now)

Me: Go play baby. I can not understand you.

Renne: JACKET.

Me: Tisha, what is Renne saying? I am not able to understand him. (just to distract him)

Renne, looked over at Tisha, with his desperate looking eyes, as if asking for help.

Tisha: Hmm…. (a long pause after thinking a lot), Chocolate.

Me: WHAT? (surprised)

Tisha: Mamma, Renne wants chocolate.

Renne: Yes Mamma. I want Chocolate. 😀

All three kids shouting now, in unity. We Want Chocolate.

We Want CHOCOLATE. We Want CHOCOLATE. 😛
