Valentine Is Like Halloween

Valentine Is Like Halloween. Don’t jump into conclusions, I don’t have any horrific experience with Valentines day, ever. This correlation of Valentine with Halloween is concluded by someone else, and she has a pretty good reason of coming to this statement.

When your four-year old daughter comes to you and asks an innocent question like, “Mamma, Do you know Valentines Day?”, what will be your first reaction?

My first thought was, how did she know about Valentine Day? Then, I thought, oh, who am I kidding, she goes to school, and kids today, they know almost everything, well almost, thank God. 😐

So, instead of just saying yes, and explaining to her what Valentines day is, like any good parent must have done, but not me; I promptly said – “No”.

No, I don’t know about Valentines Day.”
Don’t blame me, I just wanted to know, what she knows about it. Try this method, you will hear some very cute answers to life’s difficult problems.

So, I asked, “What is Valentine Day”?

Tisha, my daughter, – “You don’t know? Oh…. 😦 ”

Now, this was a shocker.

Well, wait for it, she explained it to me too, once my curiosity asked her, “How”.

Tisha : “Valentine is like Halloween, Mamma. On Valentine, kids go to party, and they get candies, and they play with their friends, and everyone loves them, give them treats. Teacher will give us a party and we will play. Lots of candies, mamma!!” 😎
Mamma, I want to go to Valentines party… plzz….plz… plz…take me to valentines party.

I did get a pretty good laugh out of it. She is super excited about her party. Me and kids have made some pretty cool gifts, small hearts, for their class friends and teachers. All set for party.
Here is to an interesting Valentines day, which is just like a Halloween. 😛

Why I have a Pink Bathroom?

If you have kids, you might agree with me, that most worrisome time of having kids in home, is when suddenly everything is quiet. No noise. Nothing. Just a big quiet. Maybe some distant giggling, and some hushed voices. Hush…..

This is when your sixth sense awaken to its full power and you start to consider everything that can go wrong at your home.

To cut the suspense, let me straight come to my story.

So, yesterday it suddenly became quiet and I got worried. You would have been too, if you have three toddlers at your home but no noise. But, being myself, I was too lazy to go check in on them. So instead I stayed back in my room with the love of my life – my couch and my Netflix. 😎

But, as if this universe thought that having three kids is not enough exercise for me; my phone rang. Phone that was in another room. Why universe? Why?

Now, I had to stand and walk. Walk whole 10 steps, just to pick up a phone. Argg….

There in complete darkness on my room, was light coming from the bathroom. I tried to listen to sounds coming from there. It was some giggle and laughs.

And there were those three thieves…. don’t panic. Not actual thief but my very own personal thieves, my kids, who were stealing my makeup from my bathroom.

Tisha, was leading them. She was painting boys toe nails with my pink nail polish. She herself had some glimmering lip gloss all over her face. Everything was pink there.

Why everything was looking pink to me? Did my eyes get some pink in them?

Nope.

It was my bathroom floor. Which looked like it just had a shower with pink color. To top it all, my pure white bathroom towels, were pink now, as if someone has tried to clean the bathroom’s pink stained floor with them. Cupboards with pink hand prints. Small devilish pink hands all over them. That was some Pink Storm!!

My kiddos? Well, they all were screaming, “Go away Mamma. We are playing”. 👿

Mamma!!! What’s this?

Mamma!!! What's this?
Otu

My two-year old boy, Otu while reading his book….

Otu: Mamma, this? (points to a butterfly in the book)

Me: It’s a butterfly, Otu.

Otu: Mamma, this?

Me: It’s a dog.

Otu: Mamma, this?

Me: It’s a boy.

Again, comes back to butterfly.

Otu: Mamma, this?

Me: Butterfly.

….

and again, and again….. and again. So, after reading out  whole page around ten times.

Me: Mamma is tired now. Go play with your toys.

Otu: NOOO……… book. Mamma, this??? (Translation: No, I want to read book. Points again to something in the book)

Me: (cursing under my breath all of those who have invented books, language and questions.)

Me: Otu, look Renne (his twin brother) has your car. Renne is playing with your car.

Otu, now running after Renne to get his car back.

Me: (Relieved, with evil smile on face)
