Frolic Friday โ€“ Don’t Kill Me Mamma

Girls are Drama. Little Girls are Drama Queen, and when it comes to my Kiddo Tisha, she is The Queen of Drama Queens. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

She is her Papa’s Princess, as every daughter is, but she really behaves like a Princess. She decline to walk. You can either take her in your lap or she will travel in Car. But, no walk. Not even to the Park. Infact before she steps out from home, first question she will ask is, โ€œAre we going by car, or walk?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

She is fashionable and pick her own clothes. Get dressed herself, that too, five times a day. Above all, she thinks, she doesn’t have enough clothes. This is when she has more clothes, than her two brothers have, combined.

Well, this post is not about confirming her Diva status, but a recent incident which made me laugh till there are tears in my eyes. ๐Ÿ˜€

It started one fine day, actually just day before yesterday, when she ventured outside barefooted. What did she catch? A Splinter.

She got a splinter in her foot. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Huge cry. Bucket of tears. Quite normal behavior you expect from a four(3.10) year old.

I caressed her and tried to calm her down. Got my tweezers and needle. Sterilize them and came to my daughter Tisha’s rescue.

First thing I heard….

Tisha: I will Kill. Mamma, I will Kill.

(meaning โ€“ I am going to die, mamma. She don’t know ‘die’ word yet. ๐Ÿ˜ )

Oh, that almost made me laugh, but I composed myself and told her, it will be alright. Soon, mamma will fix everything. You will be fine. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Tisha was constantly saying, โ€œI will kill, mamma. Save me.โ€ Till she saw tweezers in my hand.

Then there was a loud scream, and –

Tisha: Don’t kill me, Mamma. Don’t Kill me. Please Mamma, don’t kill me. Mamma, what are you doing? Are you going to Kill me? Please, mamma. Don’t Kill me.

I got her point. She was scared.

So I tried to console her by saying, “Tisha, I am your Doctor sweetie. I will fix you. Look, I have these tools to fix your pain, just like a Doctor do.”

Tisha: Doctor? You are my Doctor? (Crying more profoundly now)

Tisha: Doctors are Monsters. Mamma, you are going to kill me. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I was laughing. Yes, I am ashamed of what I did. But, yes, I couldn’t control myself, and I laughed, and laughed, till my tummy hurt and there were tears in my eyes. By that time, splinter was securely out, but both of us were crying.

She was taken care of, with medicine and bandages (I used big ones, just to please her). She didn’t stepped down from the couch,w here she was resting, till her Papa came back.

First thing she said to her papa, โ€œPapa, I got Kill.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜›

Frolic Friday โ€“ Curious Case of King Henry’s Wives : Wife # 1 – Catherine

King Henry VIII, was the second Monarch of Tudor dynasty. He was King of England from 21 April, 1509 until his death by 28 January 1547. King Henry was famous for two main reasons โ€“ one for separating Church of England from Roman Catholic Church; and second reason, he was most notoriously famous for, was his Six Wives and their fate bestowed by King Henry. These posts are dedicated to Six Wives of King Henry VIII. It’s not a historical fact or document, rather a conversational satirical viewpoint of ill-fated Queens.

Wife # 1 โ€“ I am Catherine of Aragon, First wife of King Henry VIII

William Shakespeare called me โ€œthe Queen of earthly Queensโ€, now when I am in earth, I think of only that moment when I became The Queen of England.

I was just three-year old, when my parents finalized my marriage. Yes, just three, only a child, and my fate was sealed, as the future Queen of England, and to be wife of Prince Arthur Tudor.

Commoner may think, how lucky we Queens are, but just think of it, I was not even asked about my opinion for marriage. Infact, even if they would have asked me, what would a three-year old child, will say about her marriage. ๐Ÿ˜•

I was happy. Too happy. I was going to be future Queen of England. I danced, learnt all possible languages I can, history, religion, civil, philosophy… there was nothing I had not read about. I was very lucky in that sense, as many of my contemporaries were not allowed to read at that time. Some even said, that I was educated more than my Husband King Henry. ๐Ÿ™„

You must be thinking, how come I was contracted to marry Prince Arthur, and married Henry instead? Well, I did married Prince Arthur, but that pale looking fellow, died in just five months of marriage. We didn’t even consummated our marriage. Urggh…

I should have returned to my home, but how could I have returned to my homeland as a widow, and just a princess, not a Queen. All I was raised-up to be, was to be a Queen. This was the only thing that I knew of โ€“ to be a Queen.

I married Henry, younger brother of Arthur, and six years younger to me.

Actually, he married me. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I didn’t had any say, remember. Henry and his father didn’t wanted to return my dowry (I have bought with me 200,000 crowns as dowry, along with African servants, which I was the first to do so), and to top it all, I was beautiful, way beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜€

I had fair skin and red-golden flowing hair, short height but beauty like that even Thomas Moore said that “There is nothing wanting in her that the most beautiful girl should have.” Told Ya ๐Ÿ˜†

But I was not just an eye candy, I have also fought a war for my King Henry, and won.

Henry was the love of my life. I have only loved my God, other than Henry. Even Henry could not deny my love to him. Only thing that was denied, was a male heir to England’s throne.

I had six pregnancies, but only one, Mary, my daughter survived. None of my son lived. With them, Henry’s love for me, died too. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Why it’s so important to have sons? Why can’t a girl is enough, to carry on your family genes and be your rightful heir? I could never have accepted this undignified ideology towards my daughter Mary. She was the rightful heir, and I told my wishes to Henry also, quite clearly.

Guess what? It was not the question of heir, which was keeping Henry away from me. It was that b#$@h, Anne Boleyn. She was my lady-in-waiting, at my court; and she bewitched my dear husband, to fall in love with her. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Not that Henry was innocent, he had 3-4 mistresses before, but this time it was different. He asked me for divorce, and for me to go to nunnery. What??? After 18 years of marriage and one beautiful child, how could he? He even forgot that divorce was not allowed in Catholicism? I will be his wife, till death do us apart.

He was not my sweet Henry anymore. I didn’t even recognized this new Henry, which he had turned into. One who rose against the Roman Catholic Church, and declared himself above the church itself. He was out of control. Killed everyone who believed in Catholic Church and Jesus, burnt them, executed them, hanged them. For what? To marry Anne Boleyn, or to have a male heir, or just to get rid of me? ๐Ÿ˜

He divorced me. Got the marriage annulled, saying it was invalid, as I was his brother’s wife, first.

Punished me, by not allowing me to see my only child, Mary. He kept me in his castles, closed, with nearly no help and money. But, I was always a Queen and never signed to his will of declaring my child a bastard. I didn’t, and will not say, ever, that my marriage was invalid. I was born to be a Queen, and I died, on January 7, 1536, as a Queen.

I just said this to my Dear Husband, as my last words – โ€œLastly, I makes this vow, that mine eyes desire you above all things.โ€

I don’t know if I am โ€œThe Queen of Earthly Queensโ€, as Shakespeare had put it, but I was certainly Queen of England, and will always be remembered as Queen.

When We Decided To Get Married, Again

When We Decided To Get Married, Again
When We Decided To Get Married, Again

What does it feel like to have your dreams come true? Dreams that you very well know will look too weird now, if they will come true.

I was going through the same emotions when I was standing in the Church, wearing a white gorgeous dress, with a new Ring in my fingers and my hand being held by love of my life, my hubby. I had three little pair of hands too, clutching my dress tightly, at the bottom.

It’s just happen that I have a very spontaneous husband. He is romantic in his very own way. So, we were just enjoying our cup of tea, lying on our couch, watching a news show or a cartoon (I don’t remember that part exactly), when he said โ€œI love you, yaar. Will you marry me again?โ€

We in front of state building

I laughed and laughed till he has almost asked me a hundredth time โ€œI am serious. Tell me, if you will get a chance, will you marry me againโ€?

โ€œYes. Yes, off-course yes. I want to marry you again and again, but I am already married to you.โ€ I said, still laughing.

That’s it. End of discussion. Atleast that’s what I thought.

Next day, he came all cheery and smiling from his office (actually, he daily came cheering and smiling), and handed me some pamphlets and books, from Church.

โ€œ I have booked it.โ€ he said proudly, still grinning from one ear to another.

Me โ€œWhaaaatttttttโ€?

Can you expect any other reaction? Just to clarify, we have been married now for almost five years, and have three beautiful kids too.

When We Decided To Get Married, Again
Church in it’s grandeur

He has booked the church, talked to the priest/father, and finalized day and date, which was actually just two days away. (Just TWO Days)

How could you do this? How are we going to manage? What are you thinking? Are you out of your mind? Believe me, what I said was much more than just these questions. ๐Ÿ˜›

He has even selected the clothes. Took me to a beautiful wedding store, picked out the wedding bridal gown (I loved it by the way). We nailed down some little tuxedos for our twin boys Otu and Renne, and one little white princess gown for Tisha. Every accessory, including rings. All in a day. Because next day was Wedding day.

Invited everyone by phone. Didn’t even had the list. So invited whoever came to mind. Then and there. Done.

Next day, or shall I say, The Wedding Day, I was panicking, nothing unusual about it. Hubby was relaxed. Friends were sorting out everything, from flowers to cake, everyone was rushing, except my hubby.

How could he be so relaxed? I was almost sure that all of this could have been a Big Prank, that he is playing on me. I was already preparing my hate speech which I would have delivered after the great unveiling of this prank.

Just then, a big black and white Limousine stopped in front of our home, and finally all the sense started sinking into me. Yes, this is happening. Really happening. I am about to get married again. My Marriage day.

When We Decided To Get Married, Again
We at State Building

We landed in our big long Limo, stepped in the Church, surrounded by all the friends and well wishers. Being blessed for a Happy Married life ahead, we exchanged our blessed Rings, and took vows, again to love each other for the rest of our lives.

Our Beautiful Church

Whole thing was so beautifully arranged, all thanks to hubby and his friends. Had a grand reception at an Indian restaurant and cut the cake, which was also for our Birthday, falling on the same day.

This wedding, we enjoyed it, I was less nervous and with the company of my three kids, I was on cloud nine, still am. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sometimes, there are small small things in life which makes up for a happy day, and sometimes, a big gesture by your loved one is enough to make you smile and cherish it for the rest of your life.
