All Kids in School….Finally!!!

All Kids in School....Finally!!!
All Kids in School….Finally!!!

When you are the Mother of Three kids, only thing that is lacking in your life is – some quiet time.

My daily schedule starts with when I wake up and go to bathroom to get freshen up, and before I could lock the door, at-least one of the three kid will be on the door, rubbing eyes and calling for mamma. From that moment to the time when they sleep at night, I am never alone, not for a second.

Yesterday, it was different. Now that my twin boys Otu and Renne, have  started their school, and joined Tisha. All three in school, at the same time.

You know what that means? That means, I would get the chance to be all alone. Lots of Me Time for me 🙂

Before they left for School, my first thought was, that I have to actually drag them to school, and they will cry and won’t leave the house. I was expecting at-least Renne to cry for his mamma, and not leave the house without creating a lot of ruckus. I was wrong. So, Wrong. 😦

None of them cried. Not a single tear. Not even a little. Instead, they were all jumping with excitement. Specially Otu, he didn’t even looked back. Guess, they were as excited leaving me, as I was longing for some alone time.

It was bad. They should have cried. I remembered, I cried it first time I went to school. Maybe, my kids don’t love me, or they are just super duper excited to see their school. I prefer to believe the second option. :O

So, they left, and I was still standing their, waving goodbye. I never thought, it would be so hard to close that door and come back to an empty home.

My home had never been this quiet, not even at night, when everyone is sleeping, and my someone special is snoring 😛

I decided to take a long bath. A luxury I could have now. It’s boring to take a bath when you don’t get the company of dinosaurs, mickey mouse, dolls and juice bottles, in your bathtub. No one to pay you a visit in every three minutes and ask you “Mamma, bath done?”

What Next?

Tried calling everyone on phone…. but, what to talk about. It’s no fun, when you are on phone and there is no yelling in between “Renne, come down. No jumping allowed”.

Nothing interesting on tv. Facebook is dull too, nothing new, same old boring posts.

Looked at the time…. only half hour has passed. Are you kidding me? What will I do for next few hours?

What if Renne is crying in the school? Or, they want to do Pee Pee and not able to say so? What if Otu is hungry or need some water? I started worrying, and it actually helped me in passing some time.

I have never waited for someone like this long. Hours were the longest and my patience…..

Those were the longest three hours, but they were worth waiting for, because when they came back and all three of them hugged me hard…. kisses on my cheeks and everyone of them telling stories of school. Tisha telling about the big green Dinosaur that she saw in school, or Otu showing the drawing he made, or Renne, shouting chicken, chicken, chicken… I want chicken. 🙂

Normalcy returned to my home…… everyone was yelling, and I was smiling, with a small tear holding itself strongly in the corner of my eyes.

In His Papa’s Shoes

In His Papa's Shoes

Bollywood movies have brainwashed us with their concept of Twins, wherein, one would be Evil and other a Saint; or if you will pinch one, other twin will cry. (I so want to try this) 😛

In His Papa's Shoes

I have yet to see this in real world, however; in my life with my two twin sons, what I do see is amazingly beautiful.

In His Papa's Shoes

Both are totally different personalities, in some way, poles apart. Surprisingly, one who have inherited my looks, behaves mostly like his father; and the one who has got his dashing looks from his Papa, is all me from inside.

In His Papa's Shoes

Today, I am writing about Renne; one who has heart and hairs of his father 🙂

In His Papa's Shoes

Every morning, it’s his daily ritual to wake up with his Papa, wait at the door of bathroom, till Papa comes out, all freshen up.

Their onwards Renne’s sole job is to make his Papa ready for office. First he will go to his Papa’s cupboard and pick out a shirt for him. Most of the times it will be the one which his Papa has thrown on the floor after wearing it a day before. 😮

Both father and son will spend nearly an hour in deciding what to wear. Renne will even try to buckle up the belt for his Papa. LOL… that looks so funny, when he tries that.

Papa is hardly ready, when Renne starts running towards his shoe cupboard. He will pick out the black formal shoes (always, I don’t know what’s his fascination with them), and then he will search for the socks. He has to search because his Papa is good in throwing things around. By the time Papa is seated to put on the shoes, Renne is busy finding matching socks. He somehow manages to do so everyday (even I am not able to search them sometimes), and will hand them over one by one to his Papa. One sock at a time, then the shoes.

Papa just have to do one thing on his own – comb his hair, because Renne can not reach there, otherwise he would have done that too. Next he will give lunchbox and tea to his Papa.

What’s left is, giving a goodbye kiss to his Papa, that too he do very diligently. Me, Jealous.:(

From where did Renne learned all this? Who else, than his Papa himself?

I have seen my hubby, still taking care of his father’s appearance, whenever he is stepping out of home. His shoes are shining or not? Clothes are cleaned and ironed or not? Who washed his car? Which driver is going to drive today? What is his schedule? How much time he will spend in each of his meeting? Phew!!!

Sometimes, I used to joke with my hubby, that he looks more like a personal assistant than a son, when it come to his father. He used to say to me (actually, still says), “I can be anything for my Papa. He is everything.

Now, my hubby has someone in his life, for whom, He Is Everything. 🙂

No Running, No Jumping

No Running, No Jumping
No Running, No Jumping

What is that one word or sentence, that you say most, in your daily life?

It could be anything, just don’t fret about it. I just wanted to share what I say (actually scream) most of the time.

It must have been evident by the title, but still I will say it – It’s “No Running, No Jumping”.

No, I don’t have a monkey at home (as if my hubby will let me have one), but I do have a monkey equivalent. Those who know me, will say “Why only one, you have three?” Those who know me well, will say “Yes, out of your three kids, only one is notorious enough to be considered as a monkey.”

No Running, No Jumping
No Running, No Jumping

We are talking about Renne Singh, my two year old boy. Now that I have told you that he is like a monkey, but it’s not that he has a tail or so. It’s just that he never seems to be still. Now, as far as my general knowledge from Discovery channel is correct, monkeys do sit still for some time. Oh God, now I can not even call him, a Monkey.

Problem with him is that there is no problem that can bind him longer on a single place. He is always Running. If not running, then Jumping. In fact, coming to think of that, I have never seen him walk. He never walks. Well, he does so, when I am holding his hand, so he didn’t ran away. Then he has no other option than to walk with me.

He didn’t even walked when he was learning walking. He was always quick and fast. He was just of 7 month when he started walking (literally) by holding on to furniture. By the age of 9 month, he was running and falling. More falling and less running, but no walking. His twin brother, Otu, while took his time, slowly, and increased his pace with time, almost to his 11th month.

No Running, No Jumping
No Running, No Jumping

Even when he wakes up in the middle of night, he will not come to my room, he will come running to my room. We have to clear out the whole pathway at night (remove their toys from the way), so that he won’t trip over while running at night. He will be running and screaming his lungs out, till he find his mom and sleep next to her.

No Running, No Jumping
Renne with Papa

Daytime, it’s the reverse, he won’t be screaming anymore. He will just be running and I will be the one screaming in every five to ten minutes, Renne, No Running, No Jumping”.

So, What Do You Read? Recipe Books?

So, What Do You Read? Recipe Books?
Renne

Firstly, I am really sorry for this drought of post from my side. Remember my Curious George problem, yeah, my cute sweet two year old Renne, Yes, he is the real culprit. I can never understand how those cute little small hands can have the power to destroy hard disk of a laptop. Well, Devil has never looked better.

Now when I have just explained why I didn’t write for a week, let me now come back to basic point of writing a post. So this happens at a friends place, where I was admiring their new kindle edition. I blurted out that I want one too. Next thing I heard them say was “Oh, So, What do you read? Recipe books? Cooking?”

Next two minutes I was blurting out all the books name that I have read and saying NO in every two seconds, no I do not read recipe books. I never read them. I read real books. LOL, Real books. What are real books?

On the way home, I was wondering why did I react in this way? Was it because I thought of it as a gender specific comment, like you are a woman, so all that you must be doing is cooking? Or was it because a male asked me this question, that’s why I reacted in shockingly surprise mode? Then I realized, he asked me genuinely and he wouldn’t have had any other hidden agenda than to ask me about my interest in books.

So, why did I panic? was it that bad to read about cooking? No. As long as you are reading something, It’s not that bad. As long as I am doing something interesting with my life, it’s never bad. Maybe, it hit me to be considered as normal, a Normal girl.

To be like a normal housewife who has only one agenda – cooking. I am not normal. I don’t want to be normal. some abnormality is required. Not like few extra legs or hands or maybe a tail or horns. That would be weird, really weird. But something extra, as in, a new skill, new confidence of going out, making new friends out of totally strange people, exploring the world, and cooking too. I want it all and something extra too.

God, don’t ever let me be normal. Normal is boring. Normal is like being a couch potato. I will rather be a carved out pumpkin. A scary devious looking pumpkin. Not Normal. Smile

I have a Curious George Problem

I have a Curious George Problem
I have a Curious George Problem

Being a Mom you don’t have a choice but to watch their favorite cartoons once in a while. Problem with being a Mom of three is that, you have to watch cartoons three time more, as each one of them as a different favorite cartoon. Good thing is that I know now almost each cartoon character, bad it’s hard to come back to real life.

I was watching one of their favorite show, Curious George. This one is liked by each one, maybe because it’s about a monkey or well, there can not be any other reason more compelling than having a curious monkey.

So, this curious monkey is named George and he is a pet owned by The Man in the Yellow Hat. Yes, the man is always referred like “The Man in the Yellow Hat”. Weird thing is that he not only has his hat yellow, but his whole suit is yellow, a bright lemony yellow. Why didn’t they named him “The Man in the Yellow Suit”? Why only Yellow Hat? There must have been an interesting answer to that. Alas! my limited knowledge. I am not aware of it.

While watching that show I thought, why would anyone living in a posh apartment and having all the luxurious things around his home, would like to have a freely roaming pet monkey. (doesn’t want to say that monkey should be chained though. Strongly disagree with this notion.) But think of it in this way, that why not a dog? Or rather a cat? Why a monkey which is as mischievous as George.

Problem with George is that he is curious, way too much curious. His curiosity is such that he is always creating problems for the people around him, specially for The Man in the Yellow Hat. Like this one time he create a mess in the home by splashing water all over the place, one time bringing a cow and once few pigeons to his home, or once bringing muddy feet to the whole building. Once he even lost some important documents and delivered all the packages at the wrong address.

Notion is who would want to own a pet who is always creating problems?

I have a Curious George Problem
Me ans my Curious George

Well, I was just thinking about that and then I saw my cushion covered in crayons art, my toiletries all mixed up and on the floor, kitchen boxes in the play room, newspaper pieces in the clothes cupboard, clothes in the living room, pillows on carpet and toys, well toys were everywhere. Then I just looked and I can look only at one person, my two year old son Renne. He is a saint of a child, it’s just that when he is around, everything just starts to crumble. He would be happily running around and somehow the room walls will come on their own in front of him. Sometimes, he will just go in the kitchen and all of a sudden all the boxes would come and join at his feet. He would walk in an shopping aisle and all the food cans would just come rolling on the floor. It just happens. He don’t do any such things.

I have a Curious George Problem
Papa with Renne

Well, I am not saying that. His Papa believes that. And want me to believe that too. 😛

Now, I know what does it mean to have a monkey in home. Also, you must have guessed who is the Man in the Yellow Hat, in our home.
